Abstract
Philosophy has been closely associated with the activity of dialogue, as exemplified by Plato's Dialogues. Today, when we think about the connection between philosophy and dialogue, there are two main possibilities. One is to actually dialogue with others face to face, and the other is to write in the form of dialogue. How, then, does the relationship between philosophy and dialogue overlap and differ in these two possibilities? This paper will report on the author's experiences and provide a sketch of the questions. First, a general overview of philosophical dialogues and the author's practice will be reported (1), followed by a report on the practice of writing dialogues (2). Then, a comparison of the two will be made and the ways in which philosophy and dialogue are connected will be discussed (3).
