Abstract
Recently, a consideration from viewpoint of safety has become more important when some robot or machinery is put into the market. The development of rescue robots should include the consideration concerning safety issue. In addition, use of rescue robots in real rescue activities requires social agreement. According to this, some new contest criteria connected with safety are proposed in this paper. Besides, it is stated that to make social agreement of use of rescue robots, the contest can be used as a communication tool about benefit and risk of the robots between the developers and citizens.
