Abstract
In this paper,we propose a computer-vision based tracking method for augmented reality based on template matching.Augmented reality systems typically use special markers such as squares or circles for the tracking. Our method however uses not markers but only several natural features in environment.Basically template matching is used in our tracking method. One of the problems is how to generate the template of natural features because their size and angle dynamically change while the camera is moving.Though pre-captured precise images have been used for generating the templates, this time we attempted to use not only pre-captured images but also on-line images.
