Abstract
Recently, many researches have been done on establishing computer-based simulators of biosystems and cell functions by integrating data obtained from physiological knowledge, genomic analyses, biomolecular movement analyses, etc. Their purposes are to understand biological phenomena, to help to clarify causes of diseases, and to develop new medicines and medical techniques. One of the main subjects of such researches is a blood glucose regulatory system, but most of the existing models do not take blood glucose metabolism in portal vein into account. In this paper, a model of the blood glucose regulatory system with insulin and glucose compartments corresponding to portal vein is proposed, and its validity is checked by simulation.
