Abstract
For efficient manufacturing and quick response, proper setting of the lot sizes is becoming more critical in decomposition type manufacturing industries. In this study, a lot sizing method based on the manufacturing cost is proposed for a model factory constituting of 4 subfactories. A simulation system representing the factory is developed with the cost evaluation capability and the cost effectiveness of lot sizes is discussed.
