Abstract
In this paper, constructive understanding of intelligent behavior of animals is discussed. First, we consider the sinus-lifting motion of a snake based on a kinematic model. This locomotion is a effective motion of a snake for the rapid movement. The snake lifts some parts of its body off the ground, and switches the lifted and grounded parts dynamically. This motion is analyzed as a minimization problem of the constraint force. Next, we consider the ants' behavior for feeding. The behavior algorism is expressed by a deterministic finite automaton. We discussed scalability of the system by simulations and experiments. Finally, the relation between the snake system and the ants' system is considered.
