Abstract
Due to the global interest on environmental issues, it is required to reduce the power consumptions of home electronics to reduce the greenhouse effect gas. By preventing them from the redundant power consumption, we can achieve the power consumption reduction. For example, turn off the power of a TV automatically when no one is there. For another example, lower the brightness of the TV when the surrounding is dark. Home electronics must be managed flexibly because the way to reduce the power consumption depends on the user and the surrounding. In this research, we propose a home electronics management system using rule-based smart taps. Rule-based smart taps observes the power consumption of home electronics and control them based on rules. By the rule-based control, we can control them flexibly.
