Abstract
This paper concerns a system identification experiment on a radio controlled (RC) helicopter. We will obtain a dynamical model of the helicopter's vertical movement via closed-loop subspace model identification under the condition that the altitude of the helicopter is compensated by a feedback control with a constant gain. Using the dynamical model, hovering control of the RC helicopter is designed.
