Abstract
In this paper, the author describes the relationship between the six functions of language and the aims of the “language” domain in the “Course of Study for Kindergartens” and “Childcare Guidelines”. In addition, as a method for "enriching the sense of words" added in the most recent revision of the manual, the author focused on stories and describes examples of making stories in daily childcare according to the situation. When a nursery school teacher interacts with children in daily life, it was considered that the environment for enriching the sense of language and the growth of child's language can be better enriched by paying particular attention to the four points in the workings of language and incorporating stories into daily childcare.
