In Japan, the number of outlets of financial organizations is decreasing, according to the survey of the Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications. This paper determines the factors whether the Japanese Households choose to disperse their deposits to many financial institutions or concentrate in a limited number of organizations. The Probit model is used to analyze the data of "A Survey on the Utilization of Financial Institutes 2003" by Japan Post Research Institute. It was found that the features of the households that tend to disperse the use of financial organizations are as follows: 1) Those households having large numbers of family members 2) Those households having a greater amount of deposit money, 3) Those households that place greater value on profitability. It was found that the features of the households that tend to concentrate the use of financial organization are as follows: 1) Those households in small cities, towns or villages with a small number of outlets, 2) Those households that place more value on the personalized financial consultation. It was found that if the distance between a household and a financial outlet is short, the household tends to concentrate its use to this outlet. Above tendencies do not contradict with other papers written in these years.
