Abstract

 In this study, we analyze relationship between the purpose of foreign tourist visiting Japan and the trend of their comsumption using principal component analysis. For Japan aiming for Tourism Nation, it is necessary to grasp the purpose and the consumpsion trend of visitors. We use the data of “Consumption Trend Survey for Foreigners Visiting Japan(Japan Tourism Agency)” in this analysis. The Consumption trend in European countries has a tendency toward cultural experience. Asian countries tend to be shopping. Other, the visitors from India and Germany are often business purpose. The visitors from Russia and Vietnam are often aimed at international conferences and public events. The visitors from China often buy medicines. The visitors from Australia tend to have a large consumption expenditure for ski.
