In this report, we introduce the improvement activities of the manufacturing floor through industry-Academia collaboration between the manufacturing industry in Ishikawa Prefecture and Kanazawa Institute of Technology. This initiative began in fiscal 2007 and is currently undertaken as a collaborative research. At the Manufacturing sector of four companies with production bases in Ishikawa Prefecture, 27 themes are being implemented in 9 years up to the year 2017.Initially at the beginning of this initiative, it was implemented as a long-term internship initiative that students studying management administration participate at the request of the academia, while seeking the outcome of improvement activities. In recent years, efforts have been shifting to emphasize improvement results at the request of companies. It also gives results that can be sufficiently introduced at actual manufacturing floor. We will also introduce activities after fiscal 2018.
