Abstract

In recent years, manufacturing companies have to create an enormous number of BOM in order to cope with the diversity of customer's preferences while taking miniaturization into consideration. Consequently, errors in BOM creation frequently occur at the manufacturing site. If an error occurs in the creation of the BOM and it is handed off to the post-process without being removed, it will seriously damage the manufacturing company. This paper focuses on review work which is an operation to eliminate errors in the process of creating configuration data, and conducts experiments to specify factors that affect the occurrence of human error in the work. By analyzing the structure of mistakes in review work, we aim for effective countermeasures against human error in BOM creation.
