Abstract
Polymerization of ring-substituted olefins and cyclic olefins are conducted by using Ni and Pd catalysts. The reaction is accompanied by isomreization of the growing polymer end, and yields the polymers with high stereoselectivity. This paper discusses results of the studies on the structures of the polymers as well as its relevance with the assembled form of the polymers and physical properties, i.e. liquid crystalline propertied, in the solid state.
