Due to the importance of alkoxysilane external donors in the polypropylene production, the understanding of relationship between alkoxysilane structure and catalyst performance is necessary. In this study, various types of alkoxysilane structure were used in the pressurized propylene copolymerization to investigate the effects of structure on the copolymerization performance. Ethylene and 1-octene were used as comonomer where the results of comonomer content were analyzed to represent the comonomer incorporation efficiency. Moreover, propylene polymerization in the presence of hydrogen was also carried out to investigate the effects on hydrogen response and molecular weight enhancement. The results show that comonomer incorporation efficiency correlates with the stereospecificity of polymer while different tendency was found in the case of hydrogen incorporation.
