抄録
The purpose of this practice report is to describe the use of a machine translation (MT) in an elementary school English club as an effort to promote students' awareness of the sentence structure between Japanese and English. The subjects of this practice were seven students in grades 4-6 who opted to join the English Club as Special Activities. As a result of the practice, many of the children began to compose sentences with single sentences as the number of sessions increased, and they confirmed the agreement between the Japanese and English contents by themselves and noticed sentence structures such as subjects and polite notations. However, since it was not possible to modify the English sentences themselves, an improved instructional system was required in such cases.
