Abstract
The present study focuses on learners’ chunking ability when practicing chunk reading. We examine the factors that influence the acquisition of chunking ability and the way they impact it. The qualitative analysis showed that chunking ability improved. This improvement was brought by becoming aware of the necessity for chunking while reading as well as actively engaging in the chunk reading in class.
