The distribution coefficients of anion exchange resins for zinc ions in Watts type nickel plating solutions were measured by use of atomic adsorption analysis. The distribution coefficient of Sumichelate CR-2 (a faintly basic anion exchange resin) was much larger than those of weakly or strongly basic anion exchange resins which are commercially produced. The complex anions (ZnCl42-) which exist in the nickel plating solutions are adsorbed on Sumichelate CR-2 by anion exchange.
