Indoor thermal conditions were measured in some air-tight and insulated houses where people were living. Differences of thermal conditions between heating methods (air-conditioner and floor heating system), insulating performance (normal insulation and high insulation) were examined. Main results were shown as follows. (1) Air temperatures in air-conditioned rooms had more fluctuation than those in floor heating rooms. (2) Vertical and horizontal temperature distributions in floor heating rooms were more uniform than those in air-conditioned rooms, if insulating performance were the same. (3) Vertical and horizontal temperature distributions in highly insulated houses were more uniform than those in normally insulated ones, if heating methods were the same.
