When the client of a building and a man with little special knowledge began rooftop gardens, the situation of the vegetable growth and temperature change which let one year pass for the purpose of obtaining the basic data for knowing the optimal environmental conditions was surveyed. According to the experimental designs, the site of 12 divisions was divided into two kinds of improvement soil, the vegetable kind of four patterns, and the thickness of two kinds of grounds, and it constructed, and grew in the state where manure is not given. Consequently, the situation that vegetable height changes with thickness of the ground has been grasped. Moreover, the temperature change characteristic of each division has been grasped.
