Abstract
Recently, building materials and furnitures are pointed out as the emission source of formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds or VOCs. Especially the furnitures may be a strong emission source. Some of the students complained the bad physical condition in school, and this phenomenon is a big social problems. So this study was carried out to determine on the VOCs and formaldehyde emission rates of school furnitures and its constituent materials. From our result, it turned out that the VOCs emission rates were 1158(μg/h) for equipment shelf, 29.3(μg/h) for locker, 86,7(μg/h) for testing bench and the one's of formaldehyde were 357(μg/h) for equipment shelf, 246(μg/h) for locker, 186(μg/h) for testing bench. It also turned out that the VOCs emission rates of its constituent materias were ranged from 13.3 to 32.3(μg/h) and the one's of formaldehyde were ranged from 1.4 to 7.8(μg/h).
