Abstract
This study aims to investigate the actual conditions of indoor environment in school, for giving fundamental information of ventilation design of school in future. Indoor environment of two new elementary schools in Tohoku region of Japan were investigated in winter. Temperature and humidity, concentrations of Carbon Dioxide (CO_2), ventilation airflow rates, concentrations of chemical substances, under the condition in which doors and windows were opened and closed, and airflow rates at inlets/outlets were measured in the classroom of school. As a result of this investigation, it was found that ventilation rates was insufficient in normal classroom, and the windows were not opened.
