Abstract
This study evaluates performance of various ventilation systems considering the airtightness and outdoor environment of the building by systematic numerical simulation. It has been becoming mandatory to install mechanical ventilation equipments in all buildings by the Japanese Standard Law. It is recognized that amount of ventilation is affected by outer environment and building airtightness. We evaluated ventilation condition by taking indoor-outdoor temperature difference, wind direction, wind velocity, and building airtightness into consideration. It was found that the mechanical ventilation equipment having only exhaust system was strongly affected by the above conditions.
