Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the principal causes of increased air temperature on platforms at railway station. We analyzed the distribution of wind velocity and air temperature on Shinkansen platforms in station 'A' using a numerical analysis. The presence of station buildings and heat generated by trains were identified as the primary causes of increased air temperature on Shinkansen platforms.
