Abstract
Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP), classified as a SVOC, is representative of most plasticizers. A recent report has found an association between asthma / allergic symptoms in children and DEHP in house dust. We develops the thermal desorption test chamber method that can measure correctly the emission rates of SVOC emitted from materials under actual room-air temperature conditions. In this study, we searched for the measurement's conditions based on the CFD analysis of the flow field in the emission chamber, and determined the emission time based on measurements of PVC flooring using the chamber.
