Abstract
Energy consumption in data centers is caused by the heat generation of equipment densely placed on racks. This study proved the effects of energy savings by examining the shapes of racks in data centers. Under the setting of under floor air conditioning, the effects of four things were examined: two different shapes of doors of the racks with or without panels. By changing the room temperature and amount of air ventilation, the different conditions in which each shape of rack worked most effectively were provided. The study also showed that the use of panels, which prevents air's backflow, was effective in any conditions.
