In designing multiple dwelling houses, the needs for a free layout of devices in them are increasing. In responding to these needs, it is considered to minimize the dimensions under the floor as one of the most important problems to solve. This research report defines the influences of pressured drainage on the entire drainage stack system by conducting tests of level drainage through pipes of smaller diameters with a commercially available pressure pump. We hope that this research will help improve device designing for multiple dwelling houses, especially in minimizing the dimensions under the floor.

NCDS is a siphon drainage system using slim pipes. In the NCDS system, there is a state of four flows. The Intermittent flow is a complex flow with the problem. It has been understood that the Intermittent flow is a flow to which three states periodically appear from the observation. Two of three states can forecast the continuance time. But one of the remainder was not able to be forecast in this study.

NCDS is a siphon drainage system using slim pipes. If it is applied to drain rainwater, concealment of a down pipe will become easy. We surveyed the noise characteristic on concealing pipe indoors, and studied the reduction measure of a noise level. When the siphon flow is intermittent, we must be careful that the indoor and outdoors noise level is high despite sprinkle. In the soundproofing measures, the effect of an acoustic insulation for the pipe, and closing around the pipe-end, was confirmed. Moreover, the structure of the silencer that inserted in the drain and decreased the noise was understood.

This paper describes the drainage performance evaluation of combined house drain. The following are three objectives of this study. The first concern is to grasp the limit seal destruction based on the relation between fluctuations in pressure of drainage stack system and fluctuations in seal water. The second issue is to estimate air pressure distribution of drainage stack systems. The third issue is to calculate the height of horizontal fixture branch from house drain, which can be installed.

In this study, a new drainpipe with vortex chamber was developed in order to free from danger of engulfing human body in the drain port of swimming pool. The drainpipe can control the suction force with the working of vortex flow. This paper deals with the dynamic response of suction force caused by the change of flow. At first, the dynamic responses are experimentally investigated by using small size drainpipe. Then a technical method based on the analogy between fluid-system and electric-circuit is described to predict the response of large drainpipe for practical use.

The corrosion test on the hot water piping was done by using the electric resistance technique with the loop circulation device. The probe of the flash mount type of the electric resistance technique corrosion meter along in the inside of piping. The tap water of about 50℃ was passed for one year at flow velocity 0.6m/s and the corrosion rate was measured. The carbon steel pipe was built into the experimental apparatus, the corrosion rate was measured by the weight loss in weight method, and it compared it with the corrosion rate by the electric resistance technique. As a result, the corrosion rate of both agreed almost, and was high the approximation until about especially six months.

Corrosion control by PWTDs in soft water is a unique technique of Japan in the world. PMI method would give a reliable certification for the effect of corrosion control by PWTDs in actual utilization systems. The newly proposed PMI method consists of the immersion of test pieces after the confirmation of ORP data as the index of required magnetization levels. Therefore, all of conventional corrosion data would be regarded as the meaningless in these applications. Hitherto, PWTDs were claimed of their suspicious principle and instability of the corrosion control effect at the practical use in the fields and modified testing circulation systems. These improper reputations must be altered by PMI method.
