Abstract
Subjective experiments were conducted to evaluate human comfort in the environment with spot cooling system. Five conditions, combined supply air temperature and supply air volume from spot cooling system, were set for the first test. For all conditions in the first experiment, an outlet of spot cooling system was a nozzle without a diffuser. Two types of diffusers were examined in the socond test. Seven males were exposed for 90 minute under the conditions with spot cooling, putting machine screws in holes and walking up and down the steps. Vertical air temperature distribution in occupaied zone was less than 3℃ under the all conditions both in the first test and second test. It was found from the data of thermography that spot cooling system without diffusers cooled down upper body of subjects, while it was not observed under the condition using a diffuser.
