Abstract
It is important to maintain indoor air and sanitary environments in waiting lounges, office rooms and medical wards in medical facilities. But Japan has no environmental and hygiene law for medical facilities. In this study, the way of the maintenance of sanitary environments in medical facilities was examined. This study reports the measurements of temperature, humidity, airflow rate, CO, CO_2, PM and formaldehyde concentrations in waiting lounges, office rooms and medical wards of 9 medical facilities in summer. As a result, the CO_2 concentration in the waiting lounge that had a lot of out patients in that area was pretty high, therefore the capacity of the ventilating facilities might be shortage.
