Thermal performance of the ground source heat pump (GSHP) system installed in a detached wooden house in Sendai was measured for more than one year. As the results of the investigation, the system coefficient of performance was about 2.6 in January and from 0.5 to 2.9 in August. In addition, it was found that, in the winter, the principle of the energy conservation among the heating output of GSHP, the pumped heat from the ground and the electric power consumption was realized, and, GSHP was superior in the environmental property and the cost performance to the kerosene heater.
