The purpose of this paper is to restorate Jori (条里) and Myo (名) of Kanada-no-sho (金田庄) in the province of Buzen (豊前, in Fukuoka prefecture), during the Nanbokucho (南北朝) era. After the restoreing of the medieval written documents called Jori-tsubotsuke (条里坪付), whose papers have been collated in error, we can begin the field study, namely, the Investigation of place names, particulary arable lands, and the irrigation system. But many materials have been lost today by agricultural land improvement projects. Consequently the author was forced to investigate only the modern official documents reserved in the town hall, and discussions with the old farmers. As the result of this research and restoration, the author has discovered two types of Myo. In the case of the first type, each rice-field was gathered in to groups, used a separate irrigation system and existed on the perimeter of the Ski. The second type was scatterd though the existing center of the Sho. This type used a joint irrigation system. These differences were caused partly by the difference in irrigation systems, and the author suggests that Myo was the unit of the Kanno (勧農) acts.
