The Taro are bodies consist of Kanahorizawa, which is the main body, and Kabenozawa, its subsidiary. The length of the ore bodies when the present development work is concluded, is expected to be not less than 2, 000 meters. The characteristic of Taro are bodies is its softness which makes the maintenance of any size openings very difficult; hence, after due experiments, we have adopted for our principal methods of mining, the sub-level caving and the top slicing.
The dressing plant when the present expansion work is completed will handle 60, 000 tons of crude are per month producing Cu, Zn, Pb and S concentrates.
The construction of a smelter at Miyako is progressing rapidly and its operation will be begun in the near future.
