四阪島製錬所に於ける亞硫酸瓦斯の中和回收につきて

抄録

In our Sumitomo Bessi Mine, we have had very difficult problem since older time, accordingly numerous methods which to solve this problem have been studied for the past many years; but it was not found any other better device than sulphuric acid manufacture, therefore, at the first more than 60% of total sulphur were extracted as sulphuric acid before the smelting, in the next, more than 30% of total sulphur extracted during the smelting by the waste gas treatment. Thus, already more than 90% of total sulphur in the original are were extracted as sulphuric acid, still the smoke problem was not disappeared; thereupon, the study of this problem was continued and at last the above titled process was carried out several years ago, finally the commercial plant was accomplished in the last summer. The principles of this process are as follows:-
(1) To recover the sulphur dioxide in the smelter gas by ammonium solution.
(2) To replace the sulphur dioxide in the above produced sulphite solution by sulphuric acid and obtain pure sulphur dioxide gas and ammonium sulphate solution.
(3) To make jinal products (sodium sulphite, ammonium sulphate and etc.) from the preceding products.
Now, we are convinced, in the near future, that our difficult and long-troubled problem will be perfectly dissolved.
