In previous papers I described that the radial compressive stress rr produced in rock by the explosion is proportional to r-1.3, where r is the distance from the point in quesion to the center of the bore hole, by experimental studies performed at a limestone quarry.
This paper discusses the relation between the stress rr and the distance r from a theoretical point of view. This relation varies not only with the distance r, but also with the shape of bore holes in which explosives are charged.
