The electric resistance strain gauges which are now in use generally are covered by felt and have paper base. But, as this gauge of construction is not suitable for the measurement of underground earth-pressure, the author has produced trially the gauge which has plastic cover and base and sandwitches resistance wire between them.
In this report, the author studied the characteristics of the plastic gauge produced trially and discussed the applicability for the measurement of underground earth-pressure.
