To make the relation between the fineness of particles and their floatability clear, the experiments have been made by means of the flotation testings and the sizing analyses of the products, carried out with the determination of the particle sizes by micro-photographs.
As2S3, Sb2S3, galena from Kamioka. mine, zincblende from Kamioka mine, pyrite fromVVakamatsushimand coal from Shime mine have been used in the experiments as test samples.
From the results of experiments, the relations between the fineness of particles and their floatability are clearly recognized as follows:
The floatabilities of particles are nearly the maximum in the fineness of +15μ decreased a little in the fineness of 15 or 10μ decreased distinctly in the fineness of 5-4μ and become extremely low in the fineness of 0.5μ.
