The formation or decomposition of ferrite is a intresting problem in a process of sulphatizing roasting, and we studied on the decomposition of Ni and Mn ferrites by roasting in SO2-O5-N2 atmosphere. By heating them in SO2 atmosphere, some of them weke decomposed into sulphates. By heating Mn ferrite in N2 atmosphere, considerable amount of it was converted into oxides which did not dissolve in to ferrite. As a result of this study, temperature ranges for the conversion of these ferrites by ulphatizing roasting have been established.
