試作給炭機の性能試験

The author produced by trial the cylindrical coal feeder with rotary pocket in order to simplify the construction and the operation and to increase the feed capacity of coal.
As the results of experiment about the feeders (No.1-No.3) the following conclusions were obtained.
(1) The feed capacity of coal was relative to the water content and the constituent of coal, and not to the flow velocity of water in the delivery pipe of pump.
(2) The feed capacity of No.3 feeder was about 3.5 kg/min.
(3) If this rotary feeder was used actually the capacity of pocket was given as follows, V=π/4D₀²·60V_w/(1+ε/k·ρ) Nm³ where D₀=diameter of delivery pipe of pump m V_w=flow velocity in the above pipe m/sec ε=percentage of parcking of coal in pocket k=ratio of coal and water delivered ρ=specific density of coal N=revolution per minutees of the rotar
(4) Using the above's studies the diagram in the design about the rotary feeder was obtained.
