The Mine Safety Patroller is designed to automatize underground safety operations. To make the telemetering of underground environments and central control system possible, the inductive radio telemetering system been studied. Two types of the telemetering instruments have been developed. One of them is a stationary instrument, and the other is an automatic traveling instrument which we call Mine Safety Patroller.
The Mine Safety Patroller travels along a ropeway or a monorail installed in underground gallery. This instrument which is essentially equipped with a mechanism of the telemetering, can continuously measure the methane concentration and the temperature in the main body of the air in underground, and can give an alarm if a preset level is exceeded. The signals from the measuring instruments are transmitted by the system as change in the frequency to a central control room in the surface. This instrument (SIK-5 type) consists of:(1) Patroller, (2) Observation and control desk and (3) Driving gear.
