The decomposition of Aldrin by sunlight and ultraviolet ray was studied and the decomposed product was isolated. The residual Aldrin was determined by gas chromatography. The decomposed product was examined with gas chromatography, thin-layer chromatography and infrared absorption spectra. After this experiment, we found that the product was not Dieldrin but other aromatic compound containing chlorine.
