The authors carried out some experiments for optimalizing flow control to maximize the blower output power. The controlled object consists of a single duct and a blower driven by V. S. coupling motor. The control system has two manipulated variables, namely, control valve and rotational' speed of blower.
The peak-seeking technique by the trial input is applied to detect the condition of the blower output power. The peak-seeking instruments contain no specified computers, but are mainly made of some coventional pneumatic relays and sequencial relay circuits.
The result of experiments has been fundamentally a success, but it shows that some improvement of the instruments is necessary: to quicken the transient response to comparatively large disturbance input; to simplify the peak-seeking process. In this paper, experimental approach is explained briefly.
