Abstract
A novel scheme to expand the spatial measurement range of multiplexed fiber Bragg grating (FBG) strain sensor by syntheses of optical coherence function (SOCF) is proposed, which allows de-multiplexing of FBGs of similar Bragg wavelengths. By actively making use of the multiple coherence peaks synthesized in SOCF to de-multiplex the FBGs, the measurement range is expanded per vernier effect.
