Gain scheduling is empirically known as an effective control technique for nonlinear systems of which dynamics are a function of equilibrium point. Since theoretical validation of stability and performance of the systems with scheduled controller is difficult, the validation is generally dependent on extensive simulations.
In this paper, we regard the nonlinear system as a linear system with scheduling parameter and derive a sufficient condition for stability and L2 gain performance (H∞ performance). Then, based on the condition, we propose a new design of scheduled controller.
In a numerical example, we design the scheduled controller to a given system, and evaluate its performance by computer simulation.
