We report a 76 year-old male patient with skin metastasis of prostatic cancer who was successfully treated with hormon therapy and alive for 3 years and 2 months after the appearance of skin metastases.
The patient showed multiple cutaneous nodules on the chest and abdominal region. The histopathology of the nodule revealed moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma. Immunohistochemically prostate specific antigen (PSA) and prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) were positive. The histopathology of the prostate revealed poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma.
Twenty-seven cases of skin metastasis of prostatic cancer have so far been reported in Japan, including our case.
