Abstract
In an attempt to compare the therapeutic effects of Ref lap ointment (RO), Povidone iodine sugar ointment (PIS) and the combined ointment of RO and PIS (RO+PIS, RO: PIS=3:1) in the treatment of decubitus, 26 patients of decubitus were subjected to this study.
As a result, moderate improvement was seen in 62.5% of patients treated by RO and RO+PIS respectively. On the other hand, the efficiency ratio of 37.5% was seen in the patient group treated by PIS alone. In this study, the effect of RO+PIS was superior in epithelization, antibacterial effect and removal of necrotic tissue to simple application of RO or PIS.
