We study multidimensional tunneling problems using Brink's semiclassical approach. The dynamical effects of internal degrees of freedom on barrier penetration problems(in subbarrier fusion reactions and in fission dynamics) are investigated and the results are compared with other conventional approaches: exact coupled-channel method, zero-point motion approximation, constant coupling approximation, adiabatic approximation and its Tanimura's extension.
