Abstract
This paper describes an effective personnel training initiative from the human resource management point of view when a new development methodology is utilized in the application of software development projects. The development methodology is intimately related with thought, and it is hard to obtain practical skills for it through classroom lectures. Also, when both user firms and subcontractors enhance skills, a real advantage will be recognized. Reported is the status of the personnel training through workshops at the software development sites based on actual experiences.
