1401 Advanced Tools in Simulation-Based Training for Training Project Managers : The virtual reality project for training project managers

Abstract

The failure of large and complex ICT projects has become a huge recent issue in Japan. It is said that the cause of projects failure is partly due to the lack of skilled, experienced and capable project managers. To reduce the number of projects failures, we focus on creating the effective training courses for project managers through PBL (Project Based Learning) activities. In the previous paper, the effect of the PBL activities, a virtual reality project which we conducted, was described. In this paper, we introduce an advanced training course to be able to shorten the duration of the lesson for training project manager. This paper shows the statistical results and the effective methods for training project manager, and also proves the effectiveness of e-learning based training courses that we have created.
