Abstract
The purpose of this study is to define the attitude toward work of project managers (hereinafter referred to as PMs). PMs are responsible for completing their individual projects on time; therefore, they must have the same professionalism as other specialists. Here, a PM's professionalism is defined as "to show their ability, including acquired knowledge, technologies, and know-how, to the full in the practice of project management, by taking an ethical action with a focus on responsibility, respect, fairness, and honesty." Accordingly, we had a semi- structured interview with 10 PMs who were highly-experienced in project management. The interview result was analyzed in accordance with the KJ Method, and their awareness of the exercise of professionalism, the exercise of responsibility, honesty, fairness, and respect were extracted. Furthermore, we had a investigation by the questionnaire made by the awareness. The PMs professionalism made clear that IT became the factor structure of the "integrity", "respect" and "compliance", analyzed in accordance with the factor analysis by using the effective answer from 269 PMs. In the future, we will promote a study to support the growth of PMs by clarifying the relationship between PMs' professionalism and PMs' skills.
