Abstract
The Theory of Constraints (TOC)/Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) is one of methods to improve the productivity of system development projects. A number of case studies show the effects of CCPM in increasing the productivity and shortening work periods; for further effect, however, it is necessary to achieve an improvement focusing on bottlenecks, by following the TOC's improvement steps. In order to achieve proper effects of CCPM, we have made improvements based on the TOC, by applying CCPM to our various projects. Consequently, we have found that there are appropriate improvement patterns suitable for the characteristics of each project, and the improvements based on such patterns can maximize the effects of CCPM. This study proposes how to apply CCPM to maximize its effects, using the findings obtained through the improvement activities based on CCPM.
